Submit your first video

What happens between pasting a YouTube link and a published guide.

Last updated: 3 August 2026

What you need

You need a Guides Factory account and a public YouTube link to a guide-style video. Livestream VODs work, but the longer and less structured the video, the more editing passes it takes before the guide is useful. Videos with chapters produce the cleanest first draft.

Free accounts can submit a fixed number of videos each calendar month. Your remaining allowance is shown next to the submit button on the dashboard once you are close to the limit.

The submission flow

Paste the link on the submit page, pick the game and category, and add a note for the editor if there is something they should know — for example that the build order starts eight minutes in, or that a comment near the top corrects a talent choice.

  • Processing: we pull the transcript, chapters, and top comments.
  • Pending review: a human editor checks the structure, steps, and timestamps.
  • Approved: the guide is published and appears on your creator profile.
  • Rejected: we explain why — usually the video is a reaction or a patch recap, not a guide.

How long it takes

Processing usually finishes within a few minutes. Human review is the slower step and typically completes within one business day; long campaign walkthroughs can take two. You get an email at every status change and can watch the queue from the submissions list.
